Equity indices opened the day on lower note, on the back of rising crude prices worrying the Indian markets. Asian stocks inched up to an extent with market participants wary of looking at developments in US-China trade negotiations. Political vagueness ahead of a court ruling in Karnataka is also expected to increase uncertainty in the markets. 

The Sensex was seen trading lower by 133 points at 35,015 points, while the Nifty lost 34 points at 10,648 points in later morning hours. 

Shares of Bajaj Finance Limited was trading up 2% to Rs. 2,107.40 after the company reported 61% profit on Y-o-Y.

Sensex zooms, Nifty reclaims 10,500, Tata Steel, ONGC rise


Shares of Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, L&T Hero MotoCorp, Yes Bank, Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, Dr Reddy’s and Reliance Industries were the major gainers among Sensex constituents rising in range 1 to 3 perccent. In Nifty pack, shares of Tata Steel, ONGC, Axis Bank Larsen & Toubro, Hero MotoCorp and Aurobindo Pharma were among the top gainers.

On the other hand shares of SBI, Bharat Petroleum Corporation HCL Technologies, HPCL and Coal India were among the losers in the Nifty pack. Benchmark indices gained in the Wednesday morning trade for the sixth consecutive day with Sensex and Nifty hitting all-new lifetime highs led by domestic institutional investors buying ahead of Q3 earnings by blue chips. 

BSE Sensex traded up by 18.87 points to 34,462, while the NSE Nifty edged down 1.35 points to close at 10,638.35 in the later morning hours. Shares of Coal India, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, ITC and Reliance Industries were the top gainers among the Sensex stocks. Shares of Coal India Ltd rose over 1 percent extending Tuesday’s gain after the company hiked non-coking coal prices.

Sensex and Nifty peak fresh record high, Idea Cellular gains:

Share markets opened marginally higher on Friday on positive economic cues. The BSE Sensex was up 170.16 points or 0.50% at 34,139.80. The NSE Nifty-50 index was up 46.25 points or 0.44% at 10,551.05 in the later morning hours. 



Shares Idea Cellular limited rose on the back of fundraising plans that involves raising Rs 3250 crore by selling shares on a preferential basis. The Nifty Metal Index rose higher, led by gains in shares of Hindalco Industries and Vedanta, over 1 percent, tracking the overnight rise in global metal prices. 

The Indian rupee gained more strength, ending at a fresh 2½ year high against the US dollar on Thursday. The rupee opened down by 5 paise at 63.58, but very swiftly pared the morning losses and added 16 paise to hit a day’s high of 63.37 vs the US dollar.

Sensex rises 143 points, Nifty near 10,500, RIL, SBI: India’s share markets extended gains to open higher on Wednesday on positive global cues, with Sensex & Nifty inching up by 0.3 percent.

The BSE Sensex was trading 143 points at a high of 33,955.21 and NSE Nifty added 51.65 points to mark the day’s high at 10,493.85. Shares of Reliance Industries, Adani Ports, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, Yes Bank, HUL, Tata Steel were the major gainers among the Sensex stocks while Infosys, Dr Reddy’s, HDFC Bank, ONGC, Asian Paints, Tata Motors slipped upto 2 percent. 

The heavyweight stocks such as Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, TCS, ITC, SBI, Larsen and Toubro contributed the most to the Sensex gains. Metal stocks continued to keep up momentum on the back of rising global commodity prices. The Nifty Metal index advanced 0.8 percent in early trade, led by over 1 percent rise in shares of Vedanta Limited and Tata Steel Limited.

Sensex and Nifty started the holiday-shortened week on a positive note in the opening trade, led by gains in shares of TCS and metal and mining companies. BSE Sensex reached its peak high of 34005.37 and Nifty reached at 10,500 l in early trade. 

However, in the after hours the indices were trading lower. The broader markets were also supported by positive footing in shares of GAIL India, Vedanta Ltd, ONGC rising up 0.7 to 1.1%. Shares of Infosys’ down 1.3%, on Nifty50, while shares of Tata Consultancy Service rose 1.5% in early trade after a report said the company will renew large outsourcing contracts. 

The Indian rupee opened marginally higher at 64.03 per dollar on Tuesday against 64.05 on Friday.

The Stock Market Tips rallied in the week ended Friday,22 Dec, on the back of BJP winning effect in Gujarat and HP together with strong global markets The Sensex opened the week at 33,364 and made a peak of 33,964 & a low of 32,595 closing the week at 33, 940. Thus it closed with the weekly gain of 478 points on the other hand, the Nifty opened the week at 10,263 & made a peak of 10,501, reached the bottom of 10,074 and closed the week at 10,493. Thus the Nifty closed with the weekly gain of 160 points. 

Key Stock movements during the Week: Moving on the key stocks, ICICI Bank spurted 4.27% at Rs 316.40. The bank’s subsidiary ICICI Securities has filed a DRHP with Sebi for an IPO of up to 6.44 cr equity shares. 

HDFC Bank was up 0.23% at Rs 1,877.35 after banks said for raising of funds up to Rs 24,000 crore, while IndusInd Bank dropped 1.85% at Rs 1,648.85 on bank’s amalgamation of Bharat Financial Inclusion. 

Wipro rose 3.9% at Rs 301.10 on its announcement of partnership with Headspin. Stocks of Bharti Airtel rose 2.33% at Rs 531.05 on its entering into a pact with Millicom Cellular, while Hero MotoCorp surged 7.72% at Rs 3,772.20. 

Dr Reddy’s fell 1.64% at Rs 2,333.05. Coal India was down 1.86% at Rs 266. The HDFC was down 0.84% at Rs 1,708.35 on its approval of raising funds by issuing equity shares of Rs 13000 crore.

The BSE Sensex was at 33,427 points, up 0.5% while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 52 points at 10,318 levels in the morning hours. 

Shares of IL&FS Engineering gained 5 percent after the company won the pipeline-laying contract from GAIL India worth Rs. 216.00 crore. 

Max India’s shares fell 2% after the Delhi government canceled the license of its Shalimar Bagh, Delhi hospital. In Nifty, shares of Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, Wipro Limited and Eicher were the top gainers. 

A range of aspects such as Gujarat election, industrial production and inflation numbers and automobile sales data will dictate the market all through the week.

Sensex, Nifty extend gains, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors shares gain



Sensex & Nifty opened on a higher note for the second straight day on Friday. The BSE Sensex was up 249.49 points at 33,198.70. 

The NSE Nifty 50 index was up 83.30 points at 10,250 in later morning hours. Shares of Tata Motors rose 1.7%, Vedanta up 1.6%), Marut Suzuki up 1.4%, IndusInd Bank rose 1.36% and United Phosphorus Ltd gained 1.3% becoming the top gainers on Nifty50, whereas Infratel, Eicher Motors, Asian Paints, NTPC and Ambuja Cement were the top losers in today’s trade. 

Shares of Jet Airways declined about 4% after the company posted a 91 percent fall in its July-September net profit to Rs.50.00 crore.

Stock in Actions:- AkzoNobel India has said it will sell its specialty chemicals biz as a going concern to an affiliate of the AkzoNobel Group-NV Netharlands for Rs 320 crore. Larsen & Toubro (L&T): Schneider Electric SE, the French industrial multinational together with its consortium partner Temasek, has in business with L&T to acquire its electric and automation division for Rs 15,000-Rs 17,000 cr. Glaxo Smith Kline has reported 4.73% rise in net profit at Rs.192.41 cr for the Q2 ended Sept 30, 2017-18. 

The company had posted net profit of Rs .183.72 cr in the same period of previous year. Reliance Communications is re-negotiating its deal with Canadian investment fund Brookfield along with other prospective buyers for a stake in its tower unit.

Bharti Infratel Ltd has decided to explore and evaluate acquisition of stake in Indus Towers with the aim of making it a subsidiary or wholly-owned subsidiary of the company.

Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) to issue tier-I bonds worth 5 billion, with an option for over-subscription of up to 5 billion rupees.

11 Oct Stock Market News, Nifty above 10,050, Sensex extends up


Indian Shares opened on Wednesday, on positive note. Sensex opened at 31,975, and later crossed to 32,000-mark tracking positive domestic cues such as the GST regime and positive earnings expectations. Nifty also opened above 10,000 levels in the later morning hours. Rise in the Sensex was particularly boosted by Axis Bank, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries and Mahindra and Mahindra which rose by more than 1 percent each. 

Maruti Suzuki, Coal India, Lupin and Kotak Mahindra bank were fallen by more than 0.5 percent each. The Nifty advanced stocks includes Bharti Airtel, GAIL India and Reliance leading the gains, above 2% each. 16 stocks registered declines with Indiabulls Housing Finance, Maruti Suzuki and Lupin losing more than 0.7% on the Nifty, in the morning hours. Dena Bank shares surged above 3% to Rs 31.50 after the bank announced that it had launched a qualified institutional placement of shares to raise up to Rs 1,800 crore from institutional investors. 

The rupee opened higher at 65.24 per USD. The dollar index was trading at 93.32, up 0.03% from its last close of 93.29.

Stock Watch on Wednesday, 4 October 2017: Markets Open Mixed ahead of RBI Policy Result


Indian share markets have opened the day on a mixed note prior to the RBI's policy outcome expected for later hours today. The BSE Sensex is trading up by 162 points at 31660 levels while the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 51 points at 9911 levels at the time of this writing. 

Barring I.T stocks and metal stocks, all sectoral indices have opened the day in green with stocks from PSU and O&G sector and leading the pack of gainers, while Indian rupee is trading at 65.55 to the US dollar. 

Bussing Stocks:- Nifty Pharma Index surges 1.5%. Divi’s Lab rose 3%, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Aurobindo & Dr. Reddy’s rise up 2% each. 

Stocks of Natco Pharma hits 20% upper circuit seeing that Mylan laboratories gets USFDA nod for its drug Copaxonein 20&40 mg version. 

Indian oil companies such as HPCL, BPCL, IOC stock gains on fuel cut excise duty. Stock rises upto 2 to 3.5% Stocks of Hero MotoCorp advances 1% as September total sales has grown 7%. 

Apollo Tyres Ltd approves QIP issue at floor price Rs 250.44 each and to set issue price on October 6, while its Stock down 1 percent.
