Live Market- Sensex, Nifty trade flat; Private banks index in the red 

Live Market- Sensex, Nifty trade flat; Private banks index in the red : Live Market- Sensex, Nifty trade flat; Private banks index in the red. 

Private bank stocks mostly were trading in the negative note during the early trade, keeping the sectoral index in the red.  The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.34% with Axis Bank down 1.36% as the top drag.  Nifty Pharma Index rose 1 percent with Lupin up 3%, Piramal up 2%, Aurobindo and Cipla up 2%each and, Dr Reddy’s up 1%.

Sensex zooms, Nifty reclaims 10,500, Tata Steel, ONGC rise


Shares of Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel, ONGC, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, L&T Hero MotoCorp, Yes Bank, Kotak Bank, Adani Ports, Dr Reddy’s and Reliance Industries were the major gainers among Sensex constituents rising in range 1 to 3 perccent. In Nifty pack, shares of Tata Steel, ONGC, Axis Bank Larsen & Toubro, Hero MotoCorp and Aurobindo Pharma were among the top gainers.

On the other hand shares of SBI, Bharat Petroleum Corporation HCL Technologies, HPCL and Coal India were among the losers in the Nifty pack. Shares of SBI witnessed a sharp decline after reporting weaker than expected Q3 numbers with a net loss of Rs 1,886.57 crore, in effect the SBI’s stock plunged as over 3% to a day’s low of Rs 285.

Indian share markets opened little higher with Sensex and Nifty rising high in opening trade on Thursday but both the key indices soon.. 


Shares of Maruti Suzuki gained 0.4% to Rs. 9463.55 ahead of its Q3 earnings due later in the day, while Shares of PSU banks traded mixed since a profit booking was emerged after yesterday’s surge ahead of FM Arun Jaitley detailing about Rs 2.11 lakh cr, PSU bank recap plan. Shares of the UCO Bank rose over 6% while the stock of Biocon slipped nearly 5% after the company reported a drop of 46% in the net profit to Rs 92 crore. 

Shares of Dr Reddy’s Lab and UPL will be closely watched ahead of their respective Q3 earnings. Other top companies which are also announcing their respective Q3 results include LIC Housing Finance, Ajanta Pharma, Future Jindal Steel & Power, Tata Coffee, L&T Finance Holdings, Avenue Supermarts and Shriram City Union Finance.

Sensex opens higher for 6th straight day, shares of coal India rise:

Benchmark indices gained in the Wednesday morning trade for the sixth consecutive day with Sensex and Nifty hitting all-new lifetime highs led by domestic institutional investors buying ahead of Q3 earnings by blue chips. 

BSE Sensex traded up by 18.87 points to 34,462, while the NSE Nifty edged down 1.35 points to close at 10,638.35 in the later morning hours. Shares of Coal India, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma, ITC and Reliance Industries were the top gainers among the Sensex stocks. Shares of Coal India Ltd rose over 1 percent extending Tuesday’s gain after the company hiked non-coking coal prices.

Share markets opened higher on Thursday with Sensex & Nifty beginning in the green ahead of the expiry of Future & Option contracts today. BSE Sensex traded higher by 0.05 points to 33,911.86, while the NSE Nifty-50 rose 7.05 points to 10,497.80 in the later morning hours. 

Shares of State bank of India, Sun Pharma, Tata Steel, Dr Reddy’s, Coal India, HDFC, HDFC Bank and Hindustan Unilever gained up to 1 percent while Yes Bank, Axis Bank, Hero MotoCorp, TCS, Bajaj Auto and Kotak Mahindra Bank lost up to 0.75%. 

The stock of RCom rose 19.86% to the day’s peak of Rs 34.4 on NSE while it rose 15.65% to the day’s high of Rs 33.24 on BSE. 

Metal stock rise on NSE, the Nifty Metal Index rose 1 percent in early trade tracking higher global commodity prices. Global copper prices rose overnight to their maximum levels in 3 years following strong import numbers from China. Shares of Hindustan Copper Limited rose over 5 percent.

Sensex,Nifty opened higher tracking positive global cues:

The BSE Sensex was at 33,427 points, up 0.5% while the NSE Nifty50 index was up 52 points at 10,318 levels in the morning hours. 

Shares of IL&FS Engineering gained 5 percent after the company won the pipeline-laying contract from GAIL India worth Rs. 216.00 crore. 

Max India’s shares fell 2% after the Delhi government canceled the license of its Shalimar Bagh, Delhi hospital. In Nifty, shares of Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, State Bank of India, Wipro Limited and Eicher were the top gainers. 

A range of aspects such as Gujarat election, industrial production and inflation numbers and automobile sales data will dictate the market all through the week.

Sensex, Nifty extend gains, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors shares gain



Sensex & Nifty opened on a higher note for the second straight day on Friday. The BSE Sensex was up 249.49 points at 33,198.70. 

The NSE Nifty 50 index was up 83.30 points at 10,250 in later morning hours. Shares of Tata Motors rose 1.7%, Vedanta up 1.6%), Marut Suzuki up 1.4%, IndusInd Bank rose 1.36% and United Phosphorus Ltd gained 1.3% becoming the top gainers on Nifty50, whereas Infratel, Eicher Motors, Asian Paints, NTPC and Ambuja Cement were the top losers in today’s trade. 

Shares of Jet Airways declined about 4% after the company posted a 91 percent fall in its July-September net profit to Rs.50.00 crore.

The benchmark indices Sensex & Nifty opened moderately lower on Tuesday as most of the Asian shares slipped in the early morning led by the falls in I.T stocks.

Shares Reliance Communications (RCom) slipped 6.93 percent to hit the day’s low of Rs 10.74 while Reliance Naval dipped 4.22 percent to day’s low of Rs 34. The Reserve Bank of India’s two-day monetary policy review starts today and the decision will be released by tomorrow. The RBI’s monetary policy committee is expected to keep the policy repo-rate unchanged in the upcoming monetary policy review owing to various factors.

Indian share market opened marginally lower on Monday tracking weakness in Asian markets and on caution prior to the release of July-September GDP data later this week. At 10.50 am, BSE Sensex lost 69 points to open at 33,610 whereas NSE Nifty dropped 28.65 points to begin at 10,361. The Indian rupee dropped 9 paise to 64.79 against the dollar in early trade at the interbank foreign exchange.

Thomas Cook India Ltd, the Tour operator company, has got board approval to divest a 5.42% stake in its subsidiary Quess Corp, which would bring down its shareholding to 51.56% and propose to raise over RS 600 crore through OFS route. 

Tata Teleservices Limited has started shifting its customers to the network of Bharti Airtel Ltd under an intra-circle roaming agreement. The first set of customers being moved to Airtel’s network is from U.P (West), Bihar and West Bengal. 

Inter Globe Aviation: IndiGo, is keenly consider alternate plans to induct at least 50 wide-bodied planes for overseas flights. FMCG major Godrej Consumer Products Ltd has trimmed prices of its various products in the range of 7 to 10 percent to pass on benefits of the recent GST rate reduction.

Stocks to watch out today: Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) stock will be watched out as the company is likely to have JV for 1.5 million ton steel plant for production of auto-grade steel with Arcelor Mittal. 

Telecom sector stocks will be in limelight as the Telecom Regulator has put forward relaxing spectrum holding limits. Shares of Reliance Industries Limited is on watch after the global investment banking company Goldman Sachs raised their target price by 26% to Rs 1,205.

The key benchmark indices extended losses with Sensex lost 125 points to hit the day’s low of 32,816 levels while the NSE Nifty dropped 44 points to mark a day’s low of 10,142.55 at 10.45 hours on Wednesday.

Sun Pharma was the biggest loser on Sensex after the company reported a decline of 59.19% in the consolidated net profit to Rs 912.12 cr for the quarter ended on 30 Sept 2017 YoY basis.

NBCC (India)’s consolidated net profit rose 31.33% to Rs. 81.24 Cr on 12.07% fall in net sales to Rs. 1,319.25 Cr in Q2 Sept 2017 YoY. The major companies which are lined up to announce their Q2 earnings are New India Assurance Company, CARE Ratings, Golden Tobacco, TD Power Systems, Digjam, Empee Distilleries, Automotive Axles, HMT and Universal Cables, among others.

Stock in Actions:- AkzoNobel India has said it will sell its specialty chemicals biz as a going concern to an affiliate of the AkzoNobel Group-NV Netharlands for Rs 320 crore. Larsen & Toubro (L&T): Schneider Electric SE, the French industrial multinational together with its consortium partner Temasek, has in business with L&T to acquire its electric and automation division for Rs 15,000-Rs 17,000 cr. Glaxo Smith Kline has reported 4.73% rise in net profit at Rs.192.41 cr for the Q2 ended Sept 30, 2017-18. 

The company had posted net profit of Rs .183.72 cr in the same period of previous year. Reliance Communications is re-negotiating its deal with Canadian investment fund Brookfield along with other prospective buyers for a stake in its tower unit.

Sensex, Nifty hit fresh intraday low in morning trade on Monday. The Sensex is trading at 33,681 down by 4.56 points. Stock News: The shares of Reliance Nippon AMC will be listed on the NSE today. The offer had opened for subscription from Oct 25 to 27 in a price band of Rs 247-Rs 252. 

Union Bank has reported loss of Rs 1530.72 cr for the Q2FY18, due to its rise in bad loans. It had earlier posted a profit of Rs. 176.67 cr in the July – September of previous fiscal. 

Stocks of PNB in under watch as CLSA has maintained `buy’ rating on PNB and raised the target price to Rs 250 from Rs 180. 

The Real Estate major DLF Ltds’ stock will be watched out as the CCI has approved Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC’s proposal to acquire a stake in a rental arm of the company for 1.39 billion dollar. 

ITC Limited has said that the company intends to invest Rs 10,000 cr to set up food processing facilities across the country and its looking to have around 20 such units pan India.
