23 May Sensex Nifty open lower, Sun Pharma, Cipla fall, Infosys rise

The benchmark BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty open lower on Tuesday’s opening trade. At 10.30 am, the S&P BSE Sensex was trading down 160.98 points or 0.53% at 30,409.99 while the Nifty-50 index was trading down 52.35 points or 0.55% at 9,385.90. Broader market seen major selling pressure. There were nearly eight losers against each gainer on BSE. 1958 shares declined and 245 shares advanced and a total of 53 shares were unchanged. 

The shares of Hindustan Unilever, Infosys and TCS rise, whereas the shares of Videocon Industries, Sun Pharma, Cipla and Gail fall in opening trade on the BSE. Most metal shares fall, while Telecom shares fell. Tata Teleservices Ltd went down 1.3%, Reliance Communications down 6.88% Idea Cellular fall 1.03% , MTNL shed 4.3% and Bharti Airtel edged lower by 0.08%. 

Meanwhile, price of copper went lower in global commodities markets. Fine Grade Copper for July 2017 delivery was presently down 0.40 percent at 2.585 dollar per pound on the COMEX

The Indian rupee opened at 64.65/dollar in the morning hours. It was trading at 64.70, down 0.2 percent from its previous close of 64.55, while Asian currencies have been trading lower. 

The ten-year bond yield was trading at 6.679 percent with reference to its previous close of 6.667 percent. Meantime prices of Gold gained ground with session ending at Rs 28,781 per 10 grams.

3 March (Monday) Nifty opens fresh record high, Sensex above 140 points

The benchmark indices on Monday edged higher in early trade tracking positive Asian peers. At 10.15 am, the BSE Sensex was up 146.73 points or 0.50% at 29,767.23. The Nifty-50 index was up 34.35 points or 0.38% at 9,208.20. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap and the S&P BSE Smallcap indices added 0.4% and 0.5%, respectively. 

All sectoral indices have opened the day in positive note, except reality stocks. The automobiles sector and banking, and oil & gas sector leading the pack of gainers. The rupee is trading at 64.84 to the US Dollar. 

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) extended gains to touch its fresh 52-week high of Rs 1,380 on the BSE after its telecom venture Reliance Jio extended prime membership for users by 15 days. 

In the economic front, the GST Council on Friday cleared rules on the 5 aspects of the new indirect tax rules and tentatively endorsed four sets of norms.

31 March Friday Market Live- Nifty holds 9160, Sensex Opens Flat

Key benchmark indices were trading marginally lower in early trade on Friday amid muted global cues. investors remained cautious awaiting new GST rules which will be finalized by the Council later today. 

At 10.15 am, the barometer index, the BSE Sensex, was down 38.77 points or 0.13% at 29,608.65. The Nifty50 index was currently down 9.50 points or 0.10% at 9,164.25. 

Reliance, Tata Steel, Axis Bank and ONGC were the top gainers, whereas ICICI Bank, HDFC, HDFC Bank, and Wipro were the biggest laggards. 

Asian shares were mixed with U.S. dollar extending its overnight gains today on cues of strong US economic growth, while the euro inched up after slipping overnight on data suggesting slowing growth in Europe.

24 March Friday Sensex extends gains, Nifty reclaims 9,100


The benchmark indices gained higher in early trade on positive Asian stocks. At 10.15 am, the BSE Sensex, was up 146.91 points or 0.50% at 29,479.07, while the NSE Nifty index was up 38.80 points or 0.43% at 9,125.10. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap and the S&P BSE Smallcap added 0.3% and 0.6%, respectively. 

Investors also struggled with mixed economic data. Filings for unemployment gains rose to a 7-week high, while purchases of new homes improved in February to a 7-month high. 

GST bill is scheduled to be tabled in the Lok Sabha today. The Union Cabinet on Monday gave its permission to four legislations of the much-awaited GST Bill namely the Central, State, Union Territory & Integrated GST, along with the Compensation Bill. 

Asian share markets and S&P 500 futures edged higher as investors dipped a toe back into risk trades after a week of wild swings in sentiment.

IFCI Ltd climbs 12% following NSE files IPO papers with SEBI

The NSE filed draft red herring prospectus with SEBI for its much-awaited IPO and it is expected to be one of the biggest in recent times, with an estimated size of over Rs 10,000 crore. 

IFCI Ltd holds around 3.05 percent shares in the exchange. It is currently trading at Rs 27.6, up by Rs 2.9 or 11.74% from its previous closing of Rs 24.7 on the BSE, effectively on NSE filed its draft prospectus for a Rs 10,000-crore IPO of equity with the SEBI. Earlier today IFCI Ltd breached Upper Circuit of Rs. 27.15. Also, there was considerable spurt in volume by more than 1.52 times in the number of stocks in trading today. 

The scrip opened at Rs 27.15, has touched a high of Rs 27.5 and low of Rs 26.4. So far 21387055 (NSE+BSE) shares have been traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs 4105.24 crore.
