Benchmark indices on Wednesday morning hovered in a narrow range with small losses tracing global cues. At 10:50 IST, the barometer index, the BSE Sensex, was down 28.97 points or 0.10% at 28,970.59. The Nifty50 index was down 5.55 points or 0.06% at 8,941.35. Infosys Ltd continued to fall for the second consecutive day and was the top Sensex loser. Wockhardt shares fell over 3% to Rs 711 after the company announced the Health Products Regulatory Authority of Ireland has given approval to the renewal of certificate for its Aurangabad facility.
Overseas, Asian shares were mixed with rising geopolitical risks expectations that the Federal Reserve would tighten monetary policy next week.
Avenue Supermarts' IPO opens for subscription today. The price band for the offer is Rs 295 to Rs 299 per share. On Tuesday, 7 March, the company raised Rs. 561 crore from 35 anchor investors by allocating them 18.76 million at Rs. 299 per share.
