Nifty above 8,600 amid mixed global cues: Sensex Open flat

Share markets in India have opened the trading Monday on a flattish note tracking cues from global markets. At 10.15 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 27,877 down 5 points, while the broader Nifty50 was ruling at 8,633, down 7 points. In the broader market, the BSE Midcap indices registered an uptick of 0.07%, while BSE Smallcap was down 0.02%. 

Sectoral indices have opened the day on a mixed note with metal stocks and IT seeing maximum selling pressure. healthcare and FMCG stocks are among the top gainers on the BSE. ICICI Bank, ITC, Dr Reddy, and Bharti Airtel were the other gainers on the index. Street also remained careful ahead of Union Budget this week. Finance Minister may hike service tax this Budget due on Wednesday.
