Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) rallied after they increased petrol prices by 42 paisa per litre on Sunday, the fourth increase in six weeks, and diesel rate by Rs 1.03 a litre, the second hike in a two weeks.
IOC gained 2% to Rs 358, BPCL added 0.9% to Rs 663, while HPCL advanced 1.1% to Rs 493 on the BSE.
Realty stocks ascended with BSE Realty index rising 2% after SEBI on Saturday said Indian mutual funds will be permitted to invest in real estate investment trusts & infrastructure investment trusts.
