Indian Markets Closed for Shivratri Holiday- 24 Feb 2017

Indian share, bond, and FOREX markets will be closed on Friday for Mahashivratri holiday. Trading will resume on Monday. The BSE Sensex moved above the psychological 28,893 level in intraday trade on Thursday, 23 Feb 2017. The broader NSE rose 0.1% to 8,939.5, its highest close since Sept. 8, 2016. The market gained in all the four sessions of the week.

The benchmark 10-year bond yield fell 2 bps to 6.91% from the previous close, while the rupee strengthened to 66.8250/66.8350 a dollar, the highest since November. 10.

Asian shares took a breather on Friday, hovering just below 12-18 month highs.
